Funded by NHS — Eye tests are very important for children to ensure their eyes are developing normally, especially between the ages of 3 to 7. Both vision and eye health need to be monitored as children often do not know, or say, that they have a problem. It is advisable for kids to have their eyes tested from the age of 3 or 4, depending on the child's ability, so they are at their best when school starts.
Adult Eye Examination
£35 - Regular eye tests are important because your eyes don't usually hurt when something is wrong unlike the rest of your body. An eye test is also a vital health check for your eyes. It's recommended that adults have their eyes tested every two years, unless their optometrist advises them to have a sight test more often than that.
A comprehensive eye health examination at Provision Opticians can detect diseases like hypertension, glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, cataract and more. A sight test will show if you need to get glasses for the first time or change your current glasses.
Enhanced Eye Examination
The full eye examination also includes a 3D OCT scan which captures both a photograph and a cross-sectional scan of the retina at the back of the eye at the same time. This allows an instant and early diagnosis of a number of ocular coditions including AMD, Diabetes, Glaucoma, Vitreous Detachments and macula holes. A copy of the report can be emailed for personal records.
NHS funded eligibility requirements »

On Site Glazing
We carry a large stock of finest quality lenses and are often able to provide spectacles on the same day or next day, depending upon lens type. State-of-the art glazing technology enables ProVision Opticians to offer an efficient high quality service. All lenses glazed (cut) in and out of house have to pass stringent quality control tests, and patients are advised to collect their glasses themselves to ensure the lenses are providing clear accurate vision and the frame is fitting comfortably and securely.
£30/£50 — for Kids and Adults. Every eye is different. Difference include the diameter and the curvature of your eye, not to mention the severity of any vision problems that you might have. This is why getting the precise contact lens fitting is so important.
Our optician will take careful measurements of your eyes using a special instrument called keratometer. Your eye dimensions will determine the shape and size of your lenses. Thereafter, we will have you wear trial lenses as a part of your fitting.
We stock most of the major contact lenses suppliers so we will fit the most appropriate lenses. Choices include daily disposable and monthly disposable options in standard, toric and multifocal varieties as well as cosmetic coloured options.
